FROME Netball Club will be celebrating its 70 year anniversary at Oakfield Road School on 18th September.
A spokesperson for the club said, “The members welcome anyone who has ever played or had a relative take part in any role in the club to come along and join in the celebrations.
“There will be many photos and newspaper reports over this time including the cups and shields won every year.
“The Frome club started at Oakfield with only one team and has grown over the years. At present the club has four teams, plus senior teams and three juniors. Frome Stars won all the divisions and the knockout cup in Somerset County League and has been doing the same in the Moonraker League at Devizes. The junior section has its own league which the Frome club organises.
“There will be several items of outfits which have been worn over the years, including the present outfit which will be worn by the players who will be playing from time to time. There will be invited guests who have helped the club over the years. Refreshments will be provided and the event will take place between 11am-4pm. Please come along and join us, you will be very welcome.
“The summer league has just finished and was won by Bath, closely followed by Frome Stars, and in the second division Paulton closely followed by Frome Hearts
