The Frome Open Studios would like to announce their annual ‘Call to Artists’ in preparation for the Frome Open Studios which takes place during the Frome Festival, 5th/6th and 12th/13th July 2014.
The Open Studios gives a wonderful opportunity for people visiting the festival to explore the grass roots artists for which Frome has become famous, and these artists have a fantastic opportunity to share their work and inspiration with visitors from all over the South West and further.
This year, the Open Studios have a dedicated team of artists who have volunteered to take responsibility for the organisation. Amanda Bee, Stephanie Johns, Gilly Newell, Rosie Hart, and Paul Horton are joining Caroline Walsh-Waring and David Kemp to compile the event, combining lots of fresh ideas and responding to feedback.
Rosie is developing a new website dedicated to the Open Studios at www.fromeopenstudios.co.uk but they will be maintaining their links to Creative Frome. Full contact details for the organisers will be available on the website and on the facebook page www.facebook.com/FromeOS.
Caroline said, “This year for the first time we are seeking sponsors, perhaps your business can help? This will enable us to keep costs down, spread word of the event and ensure individual artists are still able to take part. All sponsors will feature in the Trail Map and on the website.
“Contact Stephanie Johns at stephanie.johns@ blueyonder.co.uk if you would like to be featured. With a print run of 8,000 your support will be recognised far and wide. We are also planning changes to the format of the Trail Map giving each registered artist detailed exposure.
“This year participating artists will be asked to submit an eyecatching image to be considered for the front cover of the Trail Map and inclusion on all advertising so get creating now.”
Full details will be available from www.fromeopenstudios.co.uk
