THE Frome Parkrun team is running a fundraiser to purchase a defibrillator, renew tokens, and acquire new signs as they celebrate their 200th event.
Frome Parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9am at The Old Showfield, and on Saturday 30th November, it marked the 200th parkrun in Frome since it started in 2019.
To commemorate the milestone, the team has set a target of £2,000 for the purchase of much-needed items and has so far raised over £1,272 due to generous donations from the Frome community.
Event director Em said, “The Old Showfield Parkrun has been running since August 2019, so, actually, five years but we obviously had the Covid break. In all the time we have been running, we have never asked our Parkrun community for money. I was able to secure a grant from Frome Town Council for the £5,000 that we needed to get started.”
