A FROME performer is half way to her £8,000 fundraising target to pay for her tuition fees at a prestigious art school.
Lottie Ball has hosted several fundraising events across Frome since being accepted to the Laine Theatre Arts earlier this year. She has more to come too with a concert at the Merlin Theatre to be held later this month in a bid to edge her closer to her target.
The £16,000 tuition fees were initially helped by a £8,000 scholarship which left her needing to find the rest. So far she has raised half of that amount as she vows to do all she can to ensure she can pay her fees for a course which she has already started. The school has produced stars such as former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, Emrhys Cooper from US television series Desperate Housewives and Sarah Hadland from BBC series Miranda as well as many more. Lottie saw off competition from thousands of others to earn her place.
Her next fundraising event is to take place on Wednesday 29th October from 7.45pm at The Merlin Theatre as Lottie and various other performers from local drama groups will be taking part in a concert.
Lottie said, “It will be a mash up of all your popular and favourite musicals such as: Wicked, Hairspray, Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar, Frozen and many more! With performances from our talented dramatic societies in and around Frome, amazing soloists and stunning dancers, it’s going to be a night not to miss!
“So far throughout the fundraising process we have managed to raise £4,000 so I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has donated already. We still have about £4,000 to raise so any donation would mean an awful lot to me. I can’t even explain how much it means to me and I am loving training at Laine’s! I have learned so much already and without your generous help I wouldn’t have been able to go to such an amazing college so I am forever thankful.
