FROME Town Neighbourhood Officers attended a multi-agency meeting around recent issues regarding shop theft and begging.
Beat managers Carl and Kayleigh, alongside PCSO Victoria attended a meeting at the Town Hall this month to discuss recent issues in Frome town centre around shop theft and aggressive begging.
This meeting consisted of shop keepers within the town centre and members of Somerset Council and Frome Town Council. This was a great way to voice concerns and a way to collaborate and create a good working relationship and improve the way we work together. As neighbourhood officers we are always keen to develop good working relationships with all local agencies.
PCSOs Kris Seviour and Shelley Day attended Critchill School this month delivering an input on internet safety to several classes. We would just like to thank all the students from the classes again for raising such good questions on the day.
PCSOs Shelley Day and Kris Seviour attended Frome Cricket Ground to give a talk on crime prevention based around fraud for Frome Macular Society. This was warmly received by everyone who attended, and even better there was tea, coffee and biscuits circulating. PCSO Kris went away happy after winning a couple of prizes in the raffle which were donated by Frome Macular Society.
PCSOs Gary and Kris attended The Talking Café at the Cheese and Grain this month. They attended the regular meeting for a catch up and coffee, allowing members the chance to talk through any concerns, ask for advice or just talk about art and Sci-Fi, which seemed to be the topic this month! This is a great way of engaging with the community. The Talking Café is held on a Monday 10am to 11am at the Cheese and Grain café.
If you would like to speak with a member of your neighbourhood team to arrange a talk, then please make contact with us and we would be happy to discuss your requirements.
Frome Rural
Your rural Beat PCSOs Rob and Kim have been supporting the Fairleigh Hungerford Community Speed Watch and Berkley Community Speed Watch this month. The locations are fully signposted at 30mph and 20mph respectively. The vehicles recorded speeding will be receiving advisory notices soon. In a single hour of attendance at Berkley 159 vehicles passed us with 10 vehicles exceeding the speed limit at an average of 40mph, and one vehicle had no MOT.
Community Speed Watch is a valuable addition to your community to help ensure safety on our roads.
Frome Neighbourhood Rural Team worked in partnership this month with The Rural Affairs Unit; they attended an NFU Mutual event at Frome Agricultural Market with Frome Young Farmers Club and the farming community. PCSOs Rob and Kim are working together alongside the Rural Affairs Unit to promote the prevention and encourage the reporting of rural crime.
