Frome is set for a busy year with a packed programme of events and festivals celebrating the town’s arts, culture and community.
The calendar includes returning favourites such as the Wassail, Window Wanderland, the Valentine’s Lamp Lighting ceremony, the Kindness Festival (14th to 21st March) and Frome Pride and the Cobble Wobble will return again for 2026, following last year’s success. A pancake race is also due to take place in Frome town centre this February.

Major summer events are set to return, with the Frome Festival running from 3rd to 26th July, marking its 25th anniversary with a programme of arts, music and performance across the town. The Children’s Festival will also return, offering activities and entertainment aimed at families and younger residents.
Later in the year, the Cheese Show will return in September, celebrating local agriculture and food with tastings, live entertainment and competitions. The town’s Carnival is also expected to return, bringing a procession of decorated floats and fundraising for local good causes.

Environmental and cultural events will also feature throughout the year, including the International Climate Film Festival in May and Great Big Green Week, which highlights local action on climate change.
The events calendar is expected to conclude with the Multicultural Festival, celebrating the nationalities that make up the town’s community, followed by Remembrance events and the annual Christmas lights switch-on and annual lantern parade.
Mayor of Frome, Cllr Anita Collier said, “2026 is already looking like a busy year for town events, some of them will happen after I’ve handed my mayoral chain to my successor, but I look forward to representing the town at the Weylands Wassail on Sunday 8th February and cheering on the pancake race participants at ‘Stacks of Love’ on Valentine’s Day! There’s so much more to come.”
