A Frome student has been awarded Creative Arts Student of the Year in Wiltshire College’s annual student awards ceremony.
Eliza Brindle, 17, studies at the Trowbridge campus and said she ‘loves making art.’ She was presented with the award at the Trowbridge Civic Centre last month, by multiple paralympic medallist and local champion Stephanie Millward MBE.
The awards ceremony recognised 21 students for their outstanding achievement, dedication and personal progress.
Eliza said, “I didn’t realise how big this event was – it was awesome. It has been really amazing studying here, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else with my time.”
Stephanie Millward MBE described the evening as ‘incredible’ and said it was a ‘joy to meet students and hear their stories.’
“I hope they believe in themselves and go on to become the stars they want to be,” said Stephanie.
College Principal and Chief Executive Iain Hatt opened the evening with a message of celebration and encouragement.
He said, “You could feel the pride in the room – from the students, their families, and everyone who’s been part of their journey. This is a milestone moment. Not just for the winners, but for everyone here. It’s a chance to reflect on what they’ve achieved and take that next step with confidence.”
The event brought together more than 100 guests to celebrate learners from every corner of the college.
