An exhibition entitled ‘A Portrait of Gaza in Photographs and Poetry’ is being held at the Round Tower in Black Swan Arts this month.
Frome Friends of Palestine are hosting the exhibition between 10am and 4pm from 24th February to 8th March, every day except Monday 2nd March. Admission is free.
The exhibition features a series of photographs by Ahmed Abu Aisha, a 27-year-old man born and raised in Gaza. Every photo was taken during the months he lived through the Israeli invasion of Gaza in the autumn of 2023.
Also included is a collection of illustrated poems by children aged 9 to 15, also from Gaza.
Most of the students featured have been displaced and their schools have been damaged or destroyed. Two of the students were killed in October 2023.
