FROME Town F.C. are reaching out to their fans and providing them a rare opportunity to name our stadium for the 20/21 season.
Frome Town F.C. in Somerset formed in 1904 and are one of the largest non-league teams based in Somerset. They are looking to raise an initial £20,000 as part of a crowdfunder appeal to save the club from financial crisis and protect its continued existence. The community focused club has been hit hard during the lockdown with all programmes of events cancelled, no matches and their community support stopping.
The club are asking for any donations, however a donation of £50 guarantees a fan their name on their seat and on the clubs new Wall of Thanks. For one lucky fan they will have the ultimate reward of having their name put in place as the stadium name for the 20/21 season.
They are also calling out for businesses to help and become a ’#BA11 Saviour’ , by paying for the fans entry to every home league game next season. This will enable to the club to have financial security for the upcoming season, whilst helping the fans who are generously giving to save their club. Just £2,000 will allow the club to offer out free tickets and build on the 300 crowd that attend most matches.
Gary Collinson Frome Town’s Operations Director commented,
“As with all our activities, we are looking to our community to help us. The initial response has been fantastic, but we know without the support of the larger businesses within Frome – it will be a struggle to reach the targets we need. We hope that local or regional businesses do step forward to help at this time.
Frome Town Marketing Manager Scott Fitzgibbon added,
“We see a lot of clubs doing crowdfunding appeals to cover the losses of the lockdown, but this goes beyond managing the lockdown this is about helping to save a local club. The club needs support from beyond the existing fans.
