Frome’s venue 23 Bath Street hosted its first monthly blues/rock jam session on 24th October.
The youngest performer was 10-year-old Archie Coleman playing a Jimi Hendrix ageless classic and the oldest was a youthful 70. Archie was joined by five drummers, four bass players, four singers and four lead guitarists – a band of brothers and one sister! 18 musicians made it a fantastic, friendly fun night.
The organiser, Paul Kirtley said, “Frome already has a good range of live music and this monthly jam session simply adds another string to the bow – an opportunity for people to “band together” and collaborate in a friendly club vibe.
“This is also music for the next generation and we want to encourage young musicians like Archie to come and play at the start and still be home in time for bed.”
The next jam session will be Tuesday 24th November.
