This month the Cheese & Grain are running Frome’s first Vintage Weekend which is a celebration of everything vintage!
The event, which brings together the vintage fashions, classic cars, music and the Vintage Bazaar is on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th April.
The Saturday hosts the very popular Vintage Bazaar 9.00am – 3.00pm which is a regular visitor to the Cheese & Grain, they have gained an excellent reputation and have a huge array of stalls, from fashions to household items.
Live music on the Saturday evening are King Pleasure & the Biscuit Boys with support from Harlem Rhythm Cats.
King Pleasure & the Biscuit Boys are not just the world’s greatest swing & R&B band, they are an institution! The band have been on the road for almost three decades playing every European country as well as touring the USA, Russia and the Middle East, recording 10 CDs.
Dazzling musicianship, riveting stage performances, more than 50 TV appearances (including, somewhat bizarrely, five episodes of ‘Teletubbies’) and 75 radio broadcasts have established them as the Kings of Swing.
This will be a fabulous evening of dancing along to the best in R&B and swing music, not to be missed! Tickets are only £12 advance/£15 on the door. There is a special group offer of book six and pay for five, so get friends together and come along, you will not be disappointed! Doors 7.30pm – www.cheeseandgrain.com
After all the partying on Saturday night come along on Sunday 10.00am – 5.00pm to enjoy the Classic Cars and wonderful Vintage Fashion stalls with a Fashion Show in the hall. There will also be live music outside on the terrace.
The organisers are also delighted to welcome the Anonymous Travelling Market with their happy band of stallholders along to tempt you with their artisan products.
The Cheese & Grain Cafe will be serving cream teas, and on Sunday a very special ‘Afternoon Tea’, ideal to enjoy while watching the fashion show.
Sunday evening features Jazz Club in the bar with Jon Amour on Sunday evening to wrap everything up.
On both days of the weekend the organisers are delighted that they have been lucky to secure the fabulous Vintage Victory Rollers for the event; a pop up beauty salon ready to transform you into a vintage goddess for the day with their updo’s and make-up. It is recommended to pre-book your appointment and contact Raye directly on miss rayeraye@gmail.com.
There are still spaces for fashion stalls and classic cars so if you are interested please contact Tracey Rawlins at the Cheese & Grain: marketing@cheese andgrain.com for further information.
