A Local animal-assisted therapy charity has been awarded a £500 grant by the Asda Community Foundation.
Dogs for Health works to enhance wellbeing through animal-assisted therapy, interventions and education. Volunteers, with the help of dogs, visit homes, care homes, hospitals and schools.
The charity will use the grant to help fund a printer and buy resources such as games for volunteers to take with them when they visit different settings.
Asda community champion Jackie Bryant said, “It was lovely to present a cheque at the Dogs for Health Tuesday Group. The Tuesday group is just a small part of what Dogs for Health do and it is all completely run by volunteers.”
The Asda Foundation supports small grassroots groups at the heart of communities.
