I know… the local campaign, designed to build upon collective non-judgemental support between parents, is back at the Children’s Festival this year in collaboration with Hunting Raven Books, bringing a welcome family pitstop in the form of “Storytime for Parents”.
Local actors will be performing entertaining readings of stories capturing the core experiences of becoming a being a modern-day parent (without the swear words!). The stall will have toys and activities for younger children so that they can play whilst parents can kick back and listen.
“So often as a parent we can feel alone in our experiences and this can make it feel all the more overwhelming,” says its founder, Veronica Roberts. “Sharing stories about our highs and lows of parenting can initially make us feel vulnerable, but when we do, we often realise we are not alone. There is such power and collective strength in this realisation and that is what i know… is all about”
So, if you fancy having a picnic with the kids whilst enjoying ‘Storytime for Parents’ come along to the i know… stall at the Children’s Festival on Sunday 23rd July.
