FOUR new cycle racks have recently been installed beside the Cheese & Grain as a result of a collaborative effort between all three local authorities and Sustainable Frome.
Somerset County Cllr Alvin Horsfall financed the scheme through his Health & Wellbeing budget, Mendip gave permission for the installation on their land and Frome Town Council undertook the work. Sustainable Frome sourced the high-quality cycle parking racks from Lifecycle UK.
Frome Town Councillor Tricia Golinski said, “Thanks to the efforts of all parties there is now somewhere safe and convenient to park your bike when you attend the many wonderful events at the Cheese and Grain.”
Councillor Horsfall added, “The provision of cycle parking is an important element in the bigger picture to encourage people to leave the car at home. More people cycling will benefit their own health and the wider environment with less vehicle use.”
