Frome’s Mayor for Young People, Cara Honey is looking forward to personally welcoming the Freedom Theatre company to the Merlin Theatre and Frome College on Saturday 30th May.
Performing their play ‘The Siege’ in the evening, having premiered it with sellout performances and rave reviews in Bethlehem last month, the internationally renowned youth theatre from Jenin in Palestine will also run a workshop for the young people of Frome on the Saturday morning at Frome College, funded by a grant from the Frome Town Council.
Cara said, “What is doubly brilliant is to not only have the chance to work with this fantastic company, but that the places are completely free for young people.
“It’s a great opportunity for me as a drama student to widen my experience – especially with the Freedom Theatre’s emphasis on physical theatre rooted in every day experience. But I think it’s an opportunity not to be missed – any young person would enjoy and have something to learn from participating.”
Cara urged, “Places are limited, so to be sure of your workshop place email fromjenintofrome@virgin media.com or call 01373 465929.”
