The Cheese and Grain in Frome hosted its inaugural International Women’s Day event on Saturday 9th March to celebrate and inspire members of the audience.
About 100 people attended the day that consisted of inspirational talks and powerful workshops.
The organisers consisted of Engaging Women, Frome Town Council and The Cheese and Grain.
The co-founder of Engaging Women, Rosie Eliot said, “We wanted to hold an event that celebrated the day by learning from and inspiring each other. The morning was dedicated to local business success and speakers included local female CEO’s and inspiring entrepreneurs including an opening talk from Rosie Bennett – director of the University of Bath Innovation Centre. The afternoon focused on Lifestyle and Kit Stapely presented a wonderful talk on how to create your own positive outcomes in life. Kit has endured cancer on three separate occasions, being diagnosed with incurable cancer nearly twenty years ago. She is now a glowing inspiration to all who meet her.”
Other speakers included new author Clare Empsom; lifestyle blogger Chris Mosler; journalist Karen Eberhardt-Shelton and Jess Helens from Wild Co-working.
Lynne Franks delivered her Power of Seven Leadership Programme and the day was rounded off with the eminently talented folk singer Cara Dillon. Cara lives in Frome and works all over the world travelling with her band and was nominated as BBC Radio 2’s Folk Singer of the Year 2018.
