Cllr Damon Hooton, mayor of Frome, presented a cheque for £1,958.85 to be split between his two nominated charities Positive Action on Cancer and the Harry’s Hydro Appeal on Thursday 8th April.
These finds were raised following a highly successful charity dinner last month with a raffle and auction of promises.
Cllr Hooton said, “As mayor I have been supporting these two local charities throughout the year and I am so pleased to be able to present to them, on behalf of all of those who have supported my campaign, such a large amount.
“I am confident that they will continue to go from strength to strength. It is organisations like these that really do make Frome a better place.”
