2012 promises to be biggest year yet for The Global Cheese Awards at the Frome Cheese Show (Saturday 8th September) with the launch of exciting new classes and attractions designed to appeal to all visitors – however young or old… Renowned for being a ‘fun day out’ for ALL the family, the 2012 Global Cheese Awards will this year add two new categories, Best Branded Label Cheese and Best Small Independent Retailer, to its impressive line-up. And, with a record number of visitors and an unprecedented 60% rise in entries in 2011 from cheese manufacturers, suppliers and retailers from all over the UK – as well as international producers – the awards are now firmly on the map as one of the UK’s premier calendar dates for those in the cheese and dairy industry.Chairman, Nigel Pooley, maintains that 2012 will be a tremendously exciting year for The Global Cheese Awards and that the re-branding exercise that the awards went through in 2011 (when it celebrated its 150th year), has paid enormous dividends for The Frome Cheese Show, positioning it as a major event in the dairy trade, enabling it to bring fresh innovation and knowledge to thousands of visitors.Nigel said, “The Frome and Somerset communities are at the heart of this much-loved event, which has gained the respect of the international cheese trade as a whole.
