Truly bonkers character/stand up comedian, Rose Wadham, will be presenting her one woman show ‘Life Fright!’ at Rook Lane Arts on 21st June at 7.30pm.
Inspired by ‘dark times’ as an insomniac, hypochondriac, penniless actress on a desperate quest for a quiet mind, Rose will present a hilarious hour of stand up comedy, introducing some of the ‘have-a-go’ healers who failed one by one to convince her that everything will be OK in the end.
Rose wrote her first rock opera at the age of 7 and performed it for her teddies in the airing cupboard. She later went on to train as an actress at the Drama Centre, London and, represented by Chris Niel of ICM, she performed on the London stage, including for Sir Peter Hall at the Old Vic and Phil Wilmott at the BAC where she took the title role in Germaine Greer’s comic adaptation of Lysistrata and won excellent reviews. Rose returned to scriptwriting and performing her own comic material, including devised theatre pieces. In recent years she has performed stand-up comedy, character sketches and cabaret for a variety of audiences both in the UK and abroad.
Her TV script, ‘Kings Road’ co-created with her sister – the author Lucy Wadham – was the winner of the 2015 C21 Scriptwriting Competition which is part of the C21 International Drama Summit at the British Film Institute.
