Studio Prints will be showcasing the artwork of local artist Colin Brown at August’s Frome Independent Market.
Colin lives in Frome with his young family and now earns his living as a professional artist with his artwork hanging in many private and corporate collections throughout Europe.
After completing a degree at Canterbury College of Art Colin embarked on a successful career as an illustrator, for 20 years he worked for many design and advertising agencies producing artwork for companies including Audi, Hasbro, The Guinness Book of Records and Corgi Toys.
Since taking the decision to leave the advertising world behind Colin has revelled in his new found creative freedom pursuing a career as a professional artist in his own right a role which he now combines with his work as an art tutor.
Colin specialises in painting street scenes of the towns and cities that he visits around the world, his colourful and impressionistic style allows him to bring the diverse sounds, smells and atmospheres of places the world over into the homes of his collectors.
Studio Prints will be displaying a selection of Colin’s original artwork and limited edition prints at the gallery in the Westway Centre; Colin will also be doing a live painting demonstration during the day and is looking forward to meeting and discussing his work during what will hopefully be a busy and sunny market day.
The exhibition will take place outside the front of Studio Prints gallery in the Westway Centre between 10 – 3 as part of The Frome Independent Market on Sunday 7th August.
Mark Prince of Studio Prints says, “We are delighted to be able to feature Colin’s artwork at the forthcoming Frome Independent Market where we will combine local images of Frome, Wells and Stourhead alongside some of Colin’s images from further afield which will include London, New York, Paris, Havana and plenty more places beside.
“Watching Colin ‘Live Paint’ will give people a unique opportunity to see up close and personal both how Colin works and also the great talent he has to bring the streets he is surrounded by to life.”
