TUESDAY 26th July saw Frome Chamber of Commerce and Frome Town Council host another in the popular Discuss & Do series with a Social Media Workshop at the Cheese & Grain.
The event attended by 30 local business owners, freelancers and organisations saw five Frome based companies share their knowledge of working with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
The use of different types of social media to increase business was discussed on various tables with each table hosted by a business owner with experience in that discipline. The event followed previous Discuss & Do Social Media and e-commerce sessions where the demand for even more information became apparent.
Town Centre Coordinator Mark Brookes said, “We were overwhelmed with the response to this month’s event, the bookings came in quickly and it became apparent that we needed more experts on hand. We are lucky here in Frome as we have a number of very switched on businesses who are happy to share their knowledge with others.
“As someone with a PR and communications background I know how important it is to have a good online profile, increase your customer base and keep people up to date with what your business is doing. Social media is now firmly established as the man route for promotion and any business of any size needs to be actively using platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, this recent session is one of many similar events that will be hosted by the Discuss & Do team in Frome.”
The next Discuss & Do session will take place on the evening of Tuesday 23rd August at The Cornerhouse and will have ‘Business Strategy’ as its theme. For more information, contact Mark Brookes at Frome Town Council brookesm@frometowncouncil.gov.uk or call 01373 465757.
