Local cancer counselling charity We Hear You (WHY) and Goodwills have joined forces to offer local people a new and unique opportunity to mark this year’s Remember a Charity week.
The purpose of the week, which takes place from 9th to 15th September, is to encourage people to consider the needs of charities when making their wills.
Goodwills Legal Services Ltd is a solicitor-led legal services practice that has been assisting local people for many years. Goodwills offers a helpful and professional home visit service to assist people with wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney and a range of other related legal services.
The new scheme means that WHY will receive at least £40 for each person who mentions the charity when booking their Goodwills appointment and the person booking will receive a discounted Will at the reduced rate of only £112 per person.
There is no obligation or pressure to include a gift to any charity in the Will. This is an option but it very much depends on personal circumstances and wishes.
Goodwills’ senior consultant for Somerset and Wiltshire, Michael Rhodes, said, “I have long been a supporter of We Hear You and the vital service they offer to local children and adults affected in any way by cancer. We offer an individual, caring and professional service to local people and I am delighted that we will be able to support the charity in this way.
“I am sure local people will be pleased to know they are helping such an important local charity whilst getting a discount and gaining the peace of mind and protection of a professionally drafted Will.”
Community fundraiser with WHY, Robbie Newton, said, “We Hear You provides emotional support to anyone who has been affected by cancer or life-threatening conditions across Bath and North East Somerset, Wiltshire and Somerset. We support children, young people and adults in a variety of locations. Our service is low-cost or free (dependent on circumstances) and support from companies such as Goodwills is essential to enable us to have the resources to work with as many people as possible.”
Goodwills appointments can be booked by calling Michael Rhodes on 01225 683062 or contacting him by email at info@goodwillslocal.co.uk or via the website www.goodwillslocal.co.uk.
