LOCAL chocolate company Choc on Choc recently celebrated £1million of sales and 20 tonnes of chocolate used over Christmas as the brand continues to go from strength to strength.
The Rode-based chocolatier saw trade increase 225% compared to last Christmas, following the release of its new chocolate cheeseboard and vegetable punnets.
Festive sales make up 70% of Choc on Choc’s annual revenue, so strong growth at this time of year represents a significant increase in yearly turnover for the business.
Founder Flo Broughton said, “Choc on Choc had a record-breaking level of transactions over Christmas 2015, with sales hitting the £1million mark for the first time ever in quarter four.
“Growth at the company is increasingly being driven by sales of our most innovative and quirky designs, like our chocolate cheeseboard and vegetables, which recreate these popular savoury foods in delicious Belgian chocolate.
“Consumers want confectionery that not only tastes fantastic but looks beautiful too, providing a fun visual impact and making the ideal gift at Christmas and all other seasonal occasions. This Christmas we used 20 tonnes of chocolate to make our original creations.”
