THANKS to live streaming, millions of music lovers from all over the world were able to join the lucky fans at the Cheese and Grain to watch Foo Fighters play their first gig in eighteen months, here in Frome.
But did you know, just up the road, Visual Radio Arts has been streaming virtual gigs to Facebook Live to a global audience, from a new independent visual recording studio since the middle of last year?
Soundcheck is the studio’s flagship visual radio programme. Free gigs are streamed to Facebook for everyone to enjoy, from the comfort of their own home or whilst on the go.
Phil Moakes, from Visual Radio Arts said, “We produce three or four new programmes per month and have featured some top notch artists such as Craig Fortnam from North Sea Radio Orchestra and award winning folk singer Ange Hardy, who have both featured on BBC Radio productions.
“We have an exciting series of live music events coming up this year including a special on the eve of Record Store Day in April featuring Will Hunt, son of Bill Hunt from ELO and Wizzard.”
The next live Soundcheck shows are on Friday 10th March and Saturday 11th March, featuring rock bands ‘All Ears Avow’ and ‘Fabric’. You can watch them online at www.facebook.com/visualradioarts
