Former musical director of Frome Festival and founder of Frome Symphony Stephen Marquiss, is launching his new piano collection, Joshua’s Fire.
The launch concert is called Stephen Marquiss Unmasked and will take place in Christ Church, Frome on Saturday 10th October. The seven pieces of his new piano collection, Joshua’s Fire, represent seven stages of a human journey.
Stephen said, “I have been a public figure in Frome for over 15 years, but this is a chance to see and hear me at my most up-close and personal. Despite or perhaps in part because of many years of music education, it has taken me many years to find my own piano style. Playing the pieces, I feel honest and alive. I can’t wait to share them with the people of Frome.
“To celebrate the launch, I shall post one beautiful Joshua’s Fire video every day on YouTube (and share it on Facebook) in the week leading up to the launch concert, starting on Saturday 3rd October.
“In the concert, I shall play favourites from my repertoire, alongside Joshua’s Fire – Scarlatti Sonatas, Haydn Sonata No. 53 in E minor, Mendelssohn’s Variations Sérieuses, and Schumann’s Papillons.”
The concert starts at 7.30pm, admission by programme on the door £10 and £5 for under 16s.
