The Memorial has a packed line-up on offer this July with international stars Paul Merton and Pam Ayres leading the way.
Paul Merton and Chums will be appearing on Tuesday 8th July as part of the Frome Festival and as Frome Times went to press, there were still a handful of tickets left.
And then on Wednesday 16th July there’s an Evening with Pam Ayres – with Pam bringing her latest show to Frome Memorial following the recent publication of her new book of poetry, ‘You Made Me Late Again!’, copies of which she will be signing after the show.
Pam’s work is funny, and approachable. It sounds simple, as though dashed off, but this is deceptive. Her hair-trigger timing, her eye for the detail of everyday life, and for the absurdity therein, makes for an art that hides art.
Pam has sold millions of books, CDs, and DVDs over the years, and she is still a regular on TV and Radio, on programmes such as ‘Just A Minute’, ‘Ayres On The Air’, ‘QI’, ‘Countdown’, and ‘The One Show’. Tickets £22.50.
Treorchy Male Choir – will be appearing on Saturday 19th July: Celebrating its 130th anniversary, the world-famous Treorchy Male Choir has toured USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand while appearing on more than 90 commercial albums.
It has shared the stage with Dame Shirley Bassey, Ella Fitzgerald, Tom Jones, Julie Andrews and Burt Bacharach and performed for royalty, including Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Albert of Monaco.
With a vast repertoire of music from traditional Welsh to operatic choruses, showstopping musicals and contemporary ballads, Treorchy is regarded as a “master” in the choral singing arena. Tickets £19.00, concessions £17.00.
Both performances start at 7.30pm and pre show meals are available. Please contact the box office for more information on 01373 462795 –
Finally, between 7th-9th August Spellbound present ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ Tickets cost £10 (£8/9 concessions) and are available from the box office. Visit fromememorialtheatre.org.uk for more details.
