At this festive season, I’d like to thank you for all the wonderful things you do in this town, that contribute to our community.
My thanks to those of you involved in businesses and charities who cater for our needs and to those groups who find ways to help others in difficulty, whether financially, mentally or emotionally.
To all of you at the hospital, the nursing homes, the medical centre and all our emergency services, our lovely carers and volunteers who give up their time, thank you for looking after us.
To all those associated with churches, choirs, theatres, music, education, transport, hobby and sports groups, who cater for all our needs and interests, you are appreciated more than you know.
Thank you to all those venues who open their doors to supply us with welcoming food and drink, and most of all, thank you to all of you who show acts of kindness in your daily lives.
Life can be tough and for many of you, it’s even more so at Christmas, so thank you to Fair Frome, to our Rotary clubs, to events held on Christmas Day, like Victoria Park cafe and the Big Christmas Get Together for making life a little brighter.
We’re so lucky that Frome is filled with such a generous community spirit, and it makes me feel so proud and very humble to be your mayor. I love that we are a welcoming town, with many different nationalities living among us.
So, whatever your nationality, whatever your beliefs, whatever your circumstances, I want to wish you heartfelt season’s greetings. May you find peace and love in whatever you’re doing over the Christmas period, and I look forward to continuing to work amongst you.
Merry Christmas!
Cllr Anita Collier
