Mendip Community Credit Union (MCCU) and Frome Town Council have agreed that information on the services that MCCU offer will now be available through Frome Town Hall, the two local organisations agreeing to work together for the benefit of the community.
John Warman, Frome co-ordinator for MCCU said, “MCCU encourages people to save for a rainy day, as well as arranging affordable loans at much better rates than payday and doorstop lenders. The way we work is that local people save with us and we use that money to arrange loans. This keeps money in the local community for the benefit of everyone.”
This new service will mean that local people will be able to go to Frome Town Hall on Christchurch Street West to receive general information and leave documents which support their loan applications. This service will be available 9.00am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
