FOR those of you missing the Festival season come and console yourselves this weekend at Frome’s New Venue @ The Wheatsheaves.
Emma Harris of The Wheatsheaves said, “We’ve got two nights in a row with some favourite Festival Style bands to cheer you up and keep you going until the Festivals are back.
On Thurs 25th February we have ‘The Inexplicables’, a live six-piece acoustic ensemble boasting a Bristol sound built on beatbox, with sumptuous vocals, tricky wordplay, raw bass and uplifting sax melodies; a mash up journey through reggae, hip-hop and latin to electro-swing, drum ‘n’ bass and dubstep.
“Equally at home on a big stage or in an intimate venue. They have performed onboard MS Stubnitz in London. In 2013, after winning a battle of the bands competition, they played the Main Stage at Sunrise Celebration; and have also performed at numerous other festivals including Maker, Upfest, Beatherder, Nozstock and Boomtown to rave reviews.
“And then the next night… Friday 26th February we have the amazing ‘Gringo Ska’. Famous locally and further afield, they play Ska, Reggae, and Rocksteady and in their own words “good time music”. They certainly have a reputation for the feel good factor and have been firm favourites at festivals for many years. If any band can bring the sunshine back it’s them.
“So come down this weekend and dance off those winter blues…. See you there..”
