FROME will host its first ‘multi–venue Mod Weekender’ on 21st and 22nd October.
The two-day event will celebrate Mod music and culture with live performances from Northern Soul band ‘The All-Nighters’ at The Wheatsheaves on Friday 21st October, followed by The Who tribute act, ‘Who’s Next’ at the Cheese and Grain on Saturday 22nd.
‘Who’s Next’ will perform a greatest hits set with a special guest appearance from Quadrophenia star Gary Shail (ska Spider).
The All-Nighters are an eight-piece northern soul band that pays tribute to the classic up-tempo soul played in northern clubs in the 1960’s and 1970s. The evening will also feature DJ’s Tony ‘Mr Soul’ Sinclair, Matt James and DJ Smileee J.
Tickets cost £4 in advance or £5 doors, and are available from The Wheatsheaves or Raves From The Grave.
Who’s Next are Europe’s premier live tribute to The Who. Their live show aims to recreate The Who’s heyday period in the early 1970’s with the aid of authentic stage wear and instruments, as well as a set of adrenaline-fuelled classics including My Generation, Baba O’Riley and Won’t Get Fooled Again.
The evening will also include a DJ set from DJ Smileee J and Quadrophenia’s Gary Shail (aka DJ Spider).
Gary will be appearing at the Cheese and Grain beforehand between 4-6pm to sign copies of his autobiography “I Think I’m On The Guest List”, organised by Hunting Raven Books. The afternoon signing is free and will be held in the main hall.
Tickets for Saturday night cost £12 in advance or £15 on the doors.
Tickets are available from www.seetickets.com or from the Cheese and Grain box office: 01373 455420 or www.cheeseandgrain.com
