The managed IT company, Netitude, with offices in Tucker Close, has pledged free IT support to the Frome-based charity Positive Action on Cancer (PAC).
PAC was set up to provide free, professional counselling to anyone affected or bereaved by cancer or other life threatening illness. They are a small local charity in the centre of Frome.
Adam Harling, managing director of Netitude said, “We think it’s important, where possible, for local companies to support local charities, especially where that charity relies on support to provide an important service for the community.”
Adam had been helping out the charity – which is for a cause that is close to his heart – on an ad-hoc basis but decided to step up the effort by committing to a more significant IT support service for free.
He added “I do have some family history with charities just like this one, and I absolutely value the work they do. Counselling is so important to help people through this, but is often something that is not talked about or not even thought about until the family is in that sad and unfortunate position of bereavement.
“We hope other local companies follow our lead with this and give their services free to at least one deserving charity like Positive Action on Cancer. It’s hard to imagine anyone who hasn’t been affected by cancer, whether directly or knowing someone who has suffered from it. Giving a little of our time and resource away we hope will help.”
PAC will be celebrating their 21st birthday this year and are looking for new corporate partners to make their work possible.
Hannah Culff, fundraising and communications manager at PAC commented, “We receive no central government funding so every year we have to fundraise hard to ensure we can continue our work.
“The support we are receiving from Netitude means a huge amount to us and without the support of local businesses, like Netitude, we wouldn’t be able to continue supporting the amount of people we do.”
