AFTER brewing over five and a half million pints, the brewing equipment at Milk Street Brewery is being replaced.
A new custom-built vessel, which can brew twice as many pints in a week, arrived by crane last week at the the brewery’s home at the Griffin Pub.
Milk Street Brewery director Cathy Lyall said, “Five and a half million pints later we decided it was time for a new copper! Due to increase in sales we need to fit even more capacity into the now crowded space at the Griffin pub.
“It’s taken longer than anticipated because we’ve bought a custom-built unit from a British firm in Doncaster. This beautiful piece of brewery equipment will increase our capacity to 3,500 pints per brew and we will be able to brew twice as much delicious Milk Street beer per week!
“The new copper is gas powered, making for a much cleaner flavour in all our beers. Our brewers are very excited and can’t wait to get started.”
