The new Lehane-Wishart Studio is now open at Jackdaws Music Education Trust in Great Elm, and to celebrate, the studio is launching ‘Open Fridays’.
“Join us on Fridays 13th, 20th and 27th in September to see a lunchtime concert, enjoy home-made refreshments at the café and try out our Steinway in the Jackdaws Piano Club,’ says the studio.
“We are delighted to welcome Jackdaws trustee, concert pianist Philip Fowke, to open the concert series on Friday 13th, with a lunchtime recital of music for solo piano by Chopin, Schumann and Busoni.
“On Friday 20th, our artistic director, soprano Saffron van Zwanenberg, presents a selection of songs and arias alongside OperaPLUS alumnus Owain Browne. Saffron has been artistic director at Jackdaws since 2009 and maintains a successful career directing alongside her post here in Frome.
“Owain’s recent performances include ‘Luzifer’ in Stockhausen’s ausLICHT for Dutch National Opera.
“Before each concert, the Jackdaws Piano Club will spend two hours on the Steinway.”
