HAVE you ever wanted to learn about sound recording?
Frome FM is offering an opportunity for young people interested in music and sound technology to gain some training and practical experience in recording techniques.
The community radio station is collaborating with Frome Jazz Club to record a series of live modern jazz events in Christ Church. The events, titled Stolen Moments, are every month on the second Saturday from 3pm to 5pm. The recordings will be broadcast on Frome FM.
Training director Rupert Kirkham said, “The recording engineer would be responsible for setting up microphones and a recorder before each concert takes place and for monitoring the recording. Frome FM will provide the training necessary. We are looking for a young person over 18 who would like to learn more about the recording process.”
