Frome’s play areas and outdoor gyms managed by Frome Town Council have now re-opened. Mendip District Council also manage some of the play areas in town, and these will also be open.
The town council say, “If you and your family are thinking of popping along to one of the town’s play areas or outdoor gyms, we believe that with your continuing support, and everyone paying their part, visitors can stay safe and play safe; here are some essential points that need to be followed:
“Check for the Government’s latest guidance on social distancing – at the moment this still means keeping 2m apart as far as possible
“Practice good hand hygiene. Frome Town Council won’t be cleaning the play areas or outdoor gyms – it is recommended that you wash or sanitise your hands before and after you play; and before and after eating and drinking
“Look out for other people while you’re out – including taking turns on things.”
The Mayor of Frome, cllr Anita Collier, said, “The news that the play areas and outdoor gyms re-opening will be welcomed by many families in Frome. It is expected to be busy, so to ensure you and your family’s safety, maybe try and visit when it’s less busy. And even if you’ve been using hand sanitiser while you’re out, wash those hands when you get home and definitely before eating or drinking.
“In the run up to opening the play areas the town rangers have been giving a lick of paint and some TLC to the Tower View play area for everyone to enjoy. We are lucky to have so many great parks and open spaces in Frome, so please enjoy and stay safe and play safe.”
