FROME Community Hospital is urging all visitors to continue to abide by Covid 19 guidelines as lockdown regulations begin to ease.
“Over the past 16 months or so we have all experienced various hardships due to the Covid 19 pandemic and although we are, hopefully, reaching the end of ‘lockdown’, we are not there yet.” says a spokesperson for the hospital.
“Throughout, life at the hospital has been difficult and the hospital staff are very grateful for the understanding and support that they have received from the public. Unfortunately, as much as the staff would wish to return to ‘normal’, the present restrictions mean that this is not yet possible and therefore it is important that everyone continues to abide by the guidelines.
“Signs have been erected advising visitors of the restrictions that are in place, and have been throughout the pandemic; however, some people are still unsure about what they can and cannot do.
“When visiting the hospital:
• Patients requiring treatment should only be accompanied by a carer or when assistance is required.
• Only 1 parent/guardian to accompany under 18’s.
• Social distancing to be maintained at all times.
• Wear a mask.
• Use hand gel at the entrance.
“By following these guidelines, which are the Government and Somerset Foundation NHS Trust guidelines, it will keep, as far as possible, visitors, patients and staff safe.
“In order to assist those who are entering the hospital, there will be ‘meeters and greeters’ who will be able to advise on masks, hand gel etc. and ensure that visitors are confident of getting to the right place and are aware of the setup in the various waiting areas.”
