A Christmas Tree Festival is returning to Christ Church from 8th to 14th December.
Over 30 Christmas trees will be on display, representing schools, charities and local organisations.
The church will be open from 10am until 4pm each day for visitors to wander round and enjoy the trees.
Vicar of Christ Church and St Mary’s Church, Rev Liz Dudley, said, “It’s amazing how varied the trees are. They are so cleverly decorated to reflect the aims or activities of the organisation represented.
“We are really looking forward to this and we hope lots of people drop in to enjoy it. For seven days at the darkest time of the year, the church is full of light, leading us towards the hope and joy of Christmas itself.”
This year, there will also be an opportunity for visitors to add their own prayers and reflections as decorations for a tree in the peaceful Lady Chapel.
A series of musical events will run throughout the festival, including an Evensong on Sunday 7th December at 6pm, Frome Jazz Club’s Christmas Special on Saturday 13th December at 3pm, and closing the festival on Sunday 14th December at 5pm will be carols round the Christmas trees with mince pies and mulled wine.
Entrance to the events and at all other times is free, although donations towards the church’s plans to create a more accessible entrance will be warmly welcomed.
Christ Church is located on Christ Church Street West, Frome BA11 1EH.
