The annual Tree of Remembrance has been erected outside Rook Lane Chapel and residents are invited to make a donation to the Frome Lions Club in memory of a loved one or memorable cause.
Each light on the tree will remember someone or a cause. Donors will receive a personal acknowledgement and the names and causes will also be displayed on a dedication board at Rook Lane until early January.
All donations to the tree will be used by the Frome Lions Club to support an appeal by RUHX, the official charity of the Royal United Hospital Bath foundation trust, to install a new PET-CT scanner.
The trust is endeavouring to raise £4 million over the next three years to invest in installing a new scanner and build two additional uptake rooms in the radiology department. This will enable the hospital to increase patient scans from the current 10 per day to 17.
A short carol service and blessing of the tree was held on 1st December at Rook Lane Chapel, led by Rev Jill Warren.
