The RSPCA has issued a warning to pet owners in the Frome area after a family cat lost his eye after being shot with a catapult.
DJ was rushed for veterinary treatment after being found with shocking facial injuries on November 25th, near Southfields.
Two-year-old DJ, who is now recovering at home with his loving family, was found to have a green and blue glass marble embedded in his eye socket and sadly had to have his eye removed following the attack.
RSPCA inspector Kim Walters, who is investigating for the animal welfare charity said, “I believe this was a deliberate and callous attack and think this was done by someone with a catapult.
“We want to warn other pet owners to be vigilant, so hopefully they don’t have to go through such an upsetting ordeal and also to appeal to anyone who knows who did this to contact us on our inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 0818.
“Thankfully DJ survived and we were able to help his owner with the cost of veterinary treatment and hope he continues to recover and regain health after such a shocking ordeal.”
