SANTA will be back to visit Frome and the surrounding villages again this month with help from Frome Lions and Frome Rotary Club members – and children can look forward to a new sleigh complete with ‘flying reindeer’!
The new float has been generously provided by Mendip-based quarry operating company John Wainwright and Co and comes at a cost of £15,000.
Organisers say, “The new float – ready to be unveiled to the community in Frome – would not be possible without £15,000 funding from Wainwright’s and the staff time and facilities provided at their Moons Hill base. The new float is a testament to the skills of Wainwright’s engineering team as well as the company’s amazing generosity.”
The new float, which has a state-of-the-art sound system and has reduced emissions, will be slightly shorter than the original one meaning it will be able to move more easily through congested streets, and cover the ground more quickly.
