The re-launch of a transformed vibrant and popular Frome hair salon took place at Sassy, previously known as Jane’s hair salon, on Friday 25th August.
The salon, which was run by the late Jane Wilson for many years, has now been taken over by her two daughters, Vicky and Allie Hart.
Jane, a hairdresser and business owner for more than 25 years, sadly passed away at the end of March.
Jane opened her first salon in Catherine Hill where she stayed for around 15 years, relocating to her purpose-built salon at her home premises to help care for her mother. The business continued to flourish at the new site, and Jane continued to work effortlessly until two weeks before she passed away.
Her daughters have decided to continue with the business, keeping a flare of Jane around them. They said, “The name of the salon may not be Jane’s, but the new name encompasses everything we knew her to be – lively, bold and full of spirit, cheeky.
“We wanted customers, friends and family to be a part of picking the new salon name, so they were all asked to detail on a slip of paper one word that made them think of Jane or described Jane, and this is how the name evolved. The name by coincidence was picked out by one of Jane’s dearest friends, Caroline Woodruff, who was asked to cut the ribbon on the launch day.
“The launch day was an enormous success, with many customers and friends there to celebrate and raise a glass to Jane.”
