Young children from Vallis First School cut the ribbon for the opening of The Southern Co-operative store on Nunney Road, Frome.
The new Southern Co-operative store will be home to a vast range of fresh produce and chilled foods, an in-store bakery, and a selection of ‘Local Flavours’ products from local suppliers. The store also donated £500 to the local school, which headteacher, Naomi Pauley, said will be put towards their Family Learning events which includes healthy eating incentives.
Vanessa Wells, store manager for The Southern Co-operative store in Frome said, “Opening this store has been a long time coming and the customers seem to really love it; the feedback we have received so far has been a joy to listen to.
“At The Southern Co-operative store in Frome, we are planning to get as involved as we can with Vallis First School in the up and coming months. Many of the children and families from this school have been visiting us in store and we can’t wait to engage more with our new community.”
The Southern Co-operative store will be open from 6am until 11pm seven days a week and provided 17 new jobs in the area. The new store also offers customers a free-to-use ATM, PayPoint services and car parking facilities.
