Three local music lovers, Anna Dina McHugh, Al O’Kane and Beth Monk, have volunteered together and successfully applied to run and register Frome as a ‘Sofar city.’
Founded in 2010 and based… all over the planet, Sofar is an expanding network of artists and live music fans who support the culture of listening by creating magical moments with selected audiences of amazing people. Intimate, secret and small-scale, Sofar gigs sell out fast and are designed to be memorable, special and bring new atmospheres into different spaces.
A Sofar gig is a gig held in a unique venue – it could be anywhere from someone’s living room through to an antiques shop. It typically features three artists, playing four/five songs each. Every line-up is specially curated to give audiences a diverse show. The venue and line-up are only released 36 hours beforehand.
