THE Whittox Gallery’s next show will be ‘Semi-precious’ a solo show by Devon-based contemporary abstract painter Mark Jessett, 6th July – 1st September.
The exhibition is described as, ‘Paintings on paper, manifesting a confused fascination with treasure and a precarious relationship with colour’.
The gallery reports, “Showing his largest works to date, Mark’s acrylic paintings on carefully selected papers, using his beautiful technique of overlaying fine films of colours, shimmering metallics and flat solids; explores exciting relationships between colour, texture, translucency and opacity. His mineral and jewel like forms create a magical feast for the eyes. A fiesta of colour for the summer months ahead! A private view will be held on Friday 5th July from 6.30pm until 8.30pm – All welcome.”
