SHARE, a group in Frome that holds a library of things for people to borrow, are celebrating their third birthday with a repair and upcycling party on Sunday 15th April.
The idea for SHARE was born in early 2015 as a partnership between Frome Town Council, social enterprise Edventure, Sustainable Frome and the Cheese and Grain that created a place to borrow anything from ice-cream machines to garden forks.
Since then, the SHARE shop has been growing under the shop management of Helen and Aliss, two Frome locals, and a team of volunteers.
To borrow from SHARE all you need to do is become a member, either view items in the shop or online. You can borrow any item in stock for a small donation of between £1 and £5 to help with running costs. Once finished, the item is brought back to the shop for others to borrow.
To celebrate the success of this initiative, SHARE are holding a repair and upcycling party at The Welsh Mill Hub on Sunday 15th April from 3pm-5.30pm.
You can bring along your broken items for the volunteers to fix including clothing – torn jeans, moth-holed jumpers, bikes, small electrical items, small pieces of furniture and other items such as toys and crockery.
The event is free, but book in advance via www. eventbrite.co.uk/e/share- repair-and-upcycling-party-tickets-44363088191.
