THERE is still time to share your views in the Frome FM survey about radio listening habits.
A spokesperson said, “Our survey, launched before Christmas, on local radio listening habits is doing very well, and we are still looking for more people to respond. A big thank you to all those who have completed our survey! We have already learnt a lot so far.
“75% of those surveyed felt that community news is important for them on local radio. Right now, Frome FM does not have a regular local news item, although All About Frome does cover many local community issues every Tuesday at midday. We are looking to see if we can develop a regular local news slot, with five or six news volunteers. We would welcome anyone who would like to volunteer to record some local news on a regular basis, to get in touch with us at Frome.fm, or complete our survey.
“One person responded in the survey with a comment that they didn’t hear any folk music or jazz on Frome FM. Well, we have several shows covering this. For Jazz, we have Nu Jazz Sounds (Friday at 10pm presented by Anthony Bird) and Very Very Vintage (Sunday at 6pm presented by Nick Cotterell). For Folk, we have Magpie’s Folk Cafe every other Sunday at 7pm presented by Patrick Moss and The Folk and Blues Show, accessible on demand at Frome.fm
“80% listen to Frome FM on FM at 96.6, with 40% listening on smart devices. We would welcome some advice here, on Alexa we have found that you have to ask Alexa to play ‘FROAM FM’, as it can’t recognise ‘FROOM FM’. Does anyone know a way around this?
“The survey is still open until Tuesday 31st January, so if you haven’t taken part yet, please do. The aim of the survey is to gather information about our existing and potential listeners to ensure that Frome FM continues developing to provide a useful, interesting, entertaining, and informative local community radio service for the residents of Frome and the surrounding area.”
Completed surveys will be entered into a raffle to be drawn on Wednesday 1st February for a single prize of a Roberts Smart Radio worth £175.
