PEOPLE in Frome are being reminded that there are plenty of great Christmas gift ideas and festive items you can pick up in town.
Frome mayor Peter Macfadyen and president of Frome Chamber of Commerce Nigel Harris are urging people to shop locally to support the town
Mayor Peter Macfadyen said, “Shopping locally is not only likely to be more ethical, and directly employ local entrepreneurs but money spent in shops owned here is likely to be re-spent here, rather than disappearing to shareholders elsewhere. And most crucially for me, shopping local builds communities – I can think of plenty of shops in Frome where the conversation and mutual support makes them more like a social service than a business!”
This thought is shared by Nigel Harris. He said,“I remind people to focus at least some of their 2014 Christmas spending on the wonderful range of independent local businesses we have in Frome. We even have free parking from 20-24th December to make it even easier for shoppers to come and explore what Frome has to offer.”
