IT is not long until the sixth annual Frome Window Wanderland which runs from Friday 1st to Monday 4th March at 5.30pm to 10pm each evening.
Organisers are urging local residents to sign up to this free event and register their homes for an online event map and a free printed map.
Frome Window Wanderland is a fun community event where anyone can make a display in their own window (or garden) and light it up for others to wander around and enjoy. The event is completely free with no fees to participate.
“The project is being run by Black Swan Arts with generous support from Frome Town Council and Frome Activities & Sports Trust plus sponsorship from many of the wonderful independent businesses in Frome,” says one of the organisers, Susie.
Local business, Dennis Maps, will be printing a map of the event; to ensure your address appears on this printed map the deadline is Wednesday 31st January (it is still possible to register after this date but you will only be listed on the online map).
“Over 80 homes, shops and businesses have already signed up but we would love this number to beat the 205 who created displays at the last event,” says Susie.
“The event takes place shortly after the February half-term break. We are providing lots of workshops in the run up to the event, giving adults and children an opportunity to design and make colourful window decorations to take home and display for Frome Window Wanderland 2024.”

“Making a display can be as simple as a lounge window with your favourite piece of clothing hanging in it, fairy lights in the garden, a front room disco or your favourite book in the window; it is completely up to you,” explains Susie. “Or you can always lend your window to someone who wants to make a display. Participants can get a 10% discount at PostScript in Frome when buying materials for the event.
“It is easy to sign up, just register and put your address on the online map at our page on the Window Wanderland website www.windowwanderland.com/event/frome-2024. You can also find us on Facebook and Instagram. You can book onto our workshops via Eventbrite; please go to the website above for more information.”
