SAINT Katharine’s Church in East Woodlands is celebrating its third century this month with a short series of events.
The church, although mostly rebuilt in the 19th century, was originally constructed between 1711 and 1714 by the Longleat Estate, to prevent villagers having to journey into Frome.
To celebrate its anniversary, the church will host a Flower Festival on Friday 29th August to Sunday 31st from 10.00 am- 4.40 pm.
There will also be cream teas on Sunday 31st August from 3.00pm-5.00pm, followed by songs of praise at 5.30pm with the Bishop of Bath and Wells, Rt Revd Peter Hancock.
The church is just off East Woodlands Road, roughly 2.5 miles to the south of Frome.
