St Mary’s Christmas Fair, will be held this Saturday, 25th November from 9.30am – 12.00pm noon at St Mary’s Church, Innox Hill, Frome.
The fair will include crafts, gifts, decorations, cards, Christmas wrapping and trims, toys, games, jigsaws, toiletries and jewellery, cakes, preserves and treats, raffle and refreshments. Father Christmas and his little helper will also be putting in an appearance.
Parking is available on site.
P J Stephenson, parish administrator said, “We don’t receive Government assistance or business sponsorship, so we hold fundraising events to raise much-needed money for us to be able to keep doing what we do to serve the community.
“We visit people in their homes to enable them to share in the Communion of the St Mary’s community, and others who are in need of company and prayers in times of loneliness or distress.
“We ensure the church is well maintained, clean, tidy, decorated with flowers (when the season permits), and ready for the occasional offices which our parishioners require for Baptisms, weddings and funeral services to be held in the church. We continue to have special celebrations for Easter Day, Harvest and throughout Christmas. Refreshments are always available after our weekly Sunday services and there is also a Said Eucharist at 10 am every Wednesday morning. We have a monthly breakfast club from 9.30am – 11.00am on the first Saturday of every month at which breakfasts are cooked and served by members of our social committee.
“The grounds and Garden of Remembrance also require maintenance and although many tasks are undertaken by volunteers, equipment such as the new cooker recently installed in the church hall kitchen, contractors when work cannot be done by our church members and resources, still have to be paid for.
